The first International Symposium on Chemical–Environmental–Biomedical Technology (isCEBT) was organized by Professors Hsien-Chang Chang and Tomokazu Matsue in 2006.
Since then, isCEBT has become an annual conference alternately organized by universities in Taiwan and Japan to provide a platform for young researchers in Asia to showcase and discuss their research on chemical, environmental, and biomedical technologies with their counterparts in various universities in the region. It is attended mainly by graduate students as well as professors from different universities in Taiwan and Japan. This year, delegates from universities in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand will be invited for the first time. Aside from oral and poster presentations by students, plenary and keynote speeches by distinguished professors also highlight the conference.
A unique feature of isCEBT is that students are the main organizers of the event. This opportunity provides them experience in organizing conferences, gives them an international perspective, and molds them into becoming future leaders in their respective fields.
